To play devil's advocate. Browsers exist to browse sites. Remove the ads and most of those sites disappear, removing the point of having a browser in the first place.. Not every site but plenty of extremely popular sites that people love and enjoy are ad supported.

Also the reader may want to support the publisher by allowing ads. What's toxic is the tracking, data collection, and how some ads are intrusive.

You can already do that. Stop going to any sites that have ads.
